Energy Poverty

The story of Arby

Arby is just one out of the 48 million people in the U.S. who work hard but still may suffer from energy poverty.

“There were times when I lived with my grandpa in the house he had built in the sixties and the electricity and the water turned off from unpaid bills that often left us dehydrated and in the dark for days…. We usually had to go get water from the neighbors or anywhere we could to stay alive . At nights we would often use candles to see since we didn’t have any light... The meter on the thermometer was always running high since it was so hot outside...”
