Kiteboarding keeps entrepreneurs sane
Ten years ago, I fell in love with kiteboarding. I never thought it would help me with my entire entrepreneurial and academic journey.
As a kiteboarder, you pray for a favorable wind and waves to come. Actually you become happy when the wind and waves are so strong so other people need to leave the beach. You learn to have fun in conditions where most of the people are afraid.
You go into the ocean and instead of fighting the waves you ride them. The wind blows and instead of trying to survive, you use the wind to lift you up in the sky. You use the wind to enjoy all 3 Dimensions of the world.
The rough sea and the extreme wind become a playground for you!
With kiteboarding, you learn how to survive alone, how to concentrate and be focused and disciplined in everything that you do. Every mistake might hurt you a lot!
Entrepreneurship is like swimming in an ocean. You know the direction you want to go, but in order to reach your long term vision, you need to ride the right wave and use the wind to help you reach your destination and you need to survive the extreme conditions. It is important to be concentrated, stay focused and judge all of your movements and decisions in the business and market sectors.
